Balanced K-SAT and Biased random K-SAT on trees

چکیده
Abstract We study and solve some variations of the random K-satisfiability problem balanced K-SAT and biased random K-SAT on a regular tree, using techniques we have developed earlier [14]. In both these problems, as well as variations of these that we have looked at, we find that the SATUNSAT transition obtained on the Bethe lattice matches the exact threshold for the same model on a random graph for K = 2 and is very close to the numerical value obtained for K = 3. For higher K it deviates from the numerical estimates of the solvability threshold on random graphs, but is very close to the dynamical 1-RSB threshold as obtained from the first non-trivial fixed point of the survey propagation algorithm.

Biased random satisfiability problems: from easy to hard instances.
In this paper we study biased random K -satisfiability ( K -SAT) problems in which each logical variable is negated with probability p . This generalization provides us a crossover from easy to hard problems and would help us in a better understanding of the typical complexity of random K -SAT problems. The exact solution of 1-SAT case is given. The critical point of K -SAT problems and results...
متن کاملPhase Transition in Unrestricted Random SAT
For random CNF formulae with m clauses, n variables and an unrestricted number of literals per clause the transition from high to low satisfiability can be determined exactly for large n. The critical density m/n turns out to be strongly n-dependent, ccr ln(2)/(1-p) , where pn is the mean number of positive literals per clause. This is in contrast to restricted random SAT problems (random K-SAT...
متن کاملProviding a Simple Method for the Calculation of the Source and Target Reliabili- ty in a Communication Network (SAT)
The source and target reliability in SAT network is de- fined as the flawless transmission from the source node to all the other nodes. In some references, the SAT pro- cess has been followed between all the node pairs but it is very time-consuming in today’s widespread networks and involves many costs. In this article, a method has been proposed to compare the reliability in complex networks b...
متن کاملRecursive Weight Heuristic for Random k-Sat
Look-ahead SAT solvers are the most suitable to solve random k-SAT formulas. Based on the DPLL framework, they use branching heuristics. We generalise the application of the efficient recursive weight heuristic for k-SAT problems. The heuristic and an efficient implementation are presented in this paper. Parameter tuning is performed providing experimental results. Further experiments demonstra...
متن کاملSymbiosis of Search and Heuristics for Random 3-SAT
When combined properly, search techniques can reveal the full potential of sophisticated branching heuristics. We demonstrate this observation on the well-known class of random 3-SAT formulae. First, a new branching heuristic is presented, which generalizes existing work on this class. Much smaller search trees can be constructed by using this heuristic. Second, we introduce a variant of discre...
